Volunteer

There may be other ways for you to contribute your time. Safe Harbour is always looking for people with special expertise and skills that could improve the life skills of our residents. Help in ways not presently being provided is welcomed.

Volunteers are always welcome at Safe Harbour and there are many ways you can lend a helping hand to residents and staff. Volunteers are needed to help with work projects and other activities. To volunteer or for more information, simply submit your information by clicking the button below or call the Safe Harbour office.

As required by Pennsylvania law, all volunteers who have direct or indirect contact with children are required to have criminal and child abuse background clearances. These clearances include Pennsylvania State Police, Childline or Pennsylvania child abuse, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). Clearances completed by an employer or another organization are acceptable to meet this requirement. Below are links to websites where volunteers may begin the process of getting clearances.

PLEASE NOTE that the Pennsylvania clearance checks are free of charge for those seeking to volunteer. If you have any questions about the clearances please contact Safe Harbour at 717-249-2200. We would be happy to assist you in completing these clearances.

PLEASE NOTE that for FBI criminal clearance, completion of the application is the first step. Additional requirements include fingerprinting. All necessary conditions are included on the website below.
