The Shomaker Classic is Sold Out

The Shomaker Classic Golf Tournament returns on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Carlisle Country Club to support Safe Harbour, Inc.

“The goal of the Shomaker Classic always has been to make the most of the fellowship of a golf tournament to leverage the fundraising potential of the community in support of a worthy cause,” said June Shomaker, a member of the tournament’s namesake family.  “We are pleased that the tournament is supporting a worthwhile organization that is dedicated to helping individuals and families in need.”

“This outstanding partnership with the Shomaker Classic brings significant assets to assist Safe Harbour in providing shelter and supportive aid for homeless and nearly homeless children and adults,” said Scott Shewell, President & CEO 0f Safe Harbour.  “The golf tournament enjoys an excellent reputation as a first-class event at a magnificent location. We are grateful to work with the Shomaker family to promote Safe Harbour and its mission in the community.”

For over 20 years, the Shomaker Classic Golf Tournament has been organized to honor the memory of Monte Shomaker, an avid golfer and a well-known community leader who gave many years of committed service to Carlisle and Cumberland County.

The afternoon event will begin with registration and lunch at Noon, with a scramble format starting at 1 p.m. Players will have the opportunity to play several on-course games including utilizing the skills of talented junior golfer Matthieu Bowermaster.  Following play, dinner will be served and awards will be presented inside the Clubhouse.

Foursomes are sold out, but a variety of sponsorships are also available to support Safe Harbour through this prestigious event. Contact Vice President of Development and Communications, Barrie Ann George at bageorge@safeharbour.org for more information.
