Shomaker Classic Raises over $10,000 for Safe Harbour

A huge thank you goes out to the over 100 golfers who joined us at the Carlisle Country Club on Wednesday, July 10.

Over $10,000 was raised in sponsorships, registrations, contests and raffles to support the mission of Safe Harbour to provide housing and supportive services for homeless and nearly homeless individuals and families in helping them achieve independence.

For the fifth year in a row, UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle was the event sponsor, joining a host of other local business supporters in making the tournament a success!

The tournament’s names sake, Monte Shomaker’s widow, June Shomaker, was in attendance saying said that while she is happy that her husband’s memory is being honored, the tournament also makes her somber. “You know this kind of makes me sad too, because he should be here for this. It is a thing he would have loved,” Shomaker said. Safe Harbour is immensely grateful for the support of the Shomaker Family.

During the five years that the Shomaker Classic has benefitted Safe Harbour over $70,000 has been raised.
