Safe Harbour Skeet Shoot Set for October 1st

Safe Harbour’s  Annual Skeet Shoot fundraising event is seeking target shooting enthusiasts, hunters, and those interested in having fun outdoors and supporting a good cause to participate in an afternoon of sport shooting marksmanship on Friday, October 1, at the Carlisle Fish & Game Association beginning at 11:45 a.m.

F&M Trust and the Mark L. Butler Foundation return as the major sponsors of this exciting event, which features a team skeet shooting competition, as well as trap shooting and sport target shooting activities. Since the event began in 2012, Safe Harbour has raised more than $20,000 at this unique outing.

The Skeet Shoot event combines fun and fellowship in a unique setting to raise funds in support of Safe Harbour’s mission to provide a continuum of housing and supportive services for homeless and nearly homeless individuals and families in our communities.

The Annual Skeet Shoot features a five-person team skeet shoot competition. To join in the fun, shooters need a shotgun capable of shooting two rounds, as well as  #8 or #9 ammunition, though ammunition will be available for purchase on-site. The shotgun can be double-barreled, semi-automatic, or even a pump. Because skeet competitors will shoot in squads of five, one shotgun may be shared between several shooters.  No prior experience is required to participate as the Carlisle Fish & Game Association provides experienced skeet shooters to oversee the outing, and they can assist new shooters.  Shooters are required to have appropriate eye and ear protection for the event.  Ear protection and ammunition will be available for purchase at the event.

Participants may register as a team or as individuals who will be matched with other shooters to form a five-person team. Registration includes one round each of skeet, trap, and wobble as well as lunch, for $40. Additional target shooting activities of trap and wobble trap will also be available throughout the afternoon for an added donation.

Registration for this event has ended.
