Safe Harbour’s Annual End of Year Appeal for 2024 is underway! This year’s campaign was kicked off with a letter to supporters from F&M Trust’s President & CEO Tim Henry and Safe Harbour Board Chair Paulo Oliveira. Their message highlights the urgent challenges due to the affordable housing crisis emphasizing Safe Harbour’s ongoing commitment to providing shelter and housing to those in need.
“Every day, Safe Harbour is working to provide emergency shelter, affordable housing options, and support for those in need. But still, there’s still not enough housing to meet the needs of many. At Safe Harbour, we know the impact of change starts with a single person—and that’s how we work to make a difference. One by one, we’re helping those facing homelessness find a path from shelter to a place they can call home.”
Safe Harbour has remained steadfast in its mission to support those experiencing homelessness. We have taken numerous steps to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our residents, focusing on both immediate needs and long-term solutions.
Unfortunately, the need for our services has risen sharply. The community waiting list for housing is much higher than this time last year. Families who have never before sought housing services, including those with young children, are turning to Safe Harbour for help.
