Safe Harbour Hosts Annual Skeet Shoot Event

Safe Harbour’s Annual Skeet Shoot fundraising event is seeking target shooting enthusiasts, hunters, and those interested in having fun outdoors while supporting a good cause to participate in an afternoon of sport shooting marksmanship on Friday afternoon, June 9, at the Carlisle Fish & Game Association.

The Skeet Shoot event combines fun and fellowship in a unique setting to raise funds in support of Safe Harbour’s mission to provide a continuum of housing options and supportive services for the homeless and potentially homeless individuals and families. Shooters of all skill levels are welcome to test their shooting abilities while helping those in need.

The event features a five-person team skeet shoot competition. To join in the fun, shooters need a shotgun capable of shooting two rounds, as well as your own #8 or #9 ammunition. The shotgun can be double-barreled, semi-automatic, or even a pump. Because skeet competitors will shoot in squads of five, one shotgun may be shared between several shooters.  No prior experience is required to participate as the Carlisle Fish & Game Association provides experienced skeet shooters to oversee the outing, and they can assist new shooters.  Shooters are required to have appropriate eye and ear protection for the event.  Ear protection and ammunition will be available for purchase at the event.

Participants may register as a team or as individuals who will be matched with other shooters to form a five-person team. Registration includes one round each of skeet, trap, and wobble for $40, as well as a catered barbeque lunch.

Participants are encouraged to register online. Registrants may choose to pay online by credit card through PayPal, send a check to Safe Harbour at 102 W. High Street Carlisle, PA 17013, or pay at the event.

Event sponsorships are available by contacting Barrie Ann George, Vice President of Development,
