Match Madness 2023

Safe Harbour is proud to participate in the Partnership for Better Health’s MATCH MADNESS gift-matching campaign!

Thanks to the support of M&T Bank, the Josiah W. and Bessie H. Kline Foundation, the McCormick Family Foundation, and The Partnership for Better Health the first $1,000 we raise will be matched dollar-for-dollar. After that, we receive a match for a percentage of the total amount raised by all participating organizations. From March 1-31, all donations designated to Safe Harbour will be eligible to receive a portion of the $150,000 stretch pool!

Safe Harbour’s Goal for Match Madness 2023 is $18,000.

This figure roughly represents the amount to fund one month of our Short-Term Emergency Shelter for Women and Families. The program consistently operates at capacity with an average of 13 residents at $44.74 per day.  The Emergency Shelter Programs provide housing and supportive services for residents to regain stability in their lives. Safe Harbour’s supportive services are provided to be informative and allow for connection to community services and resources. All activities focus on guiding the resident’s life so they can navigate themselves back to stability and not continue living from “crisis to crisis.” By providing a safe environment, counsel, and instructional opportunities both within our program and through other community partner agencies, we strive to strengthen our residents’ emotional stability, life skills, employment skills, as well as self-esteem; ultimately, we aim to improve the overall quality of their lives.

We hope that you would consider making a gift during Match Madness on behalf of Safe Harbour. Last year we provided over 20,000 nights of shelter as well as critical supportive services to individuals and families in need. Won’t you help us continue that service to the homeless of our community?
