The Annual Shomaker Golf Classic is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Carlisle Country Club.
The Shomaker Classic is held in memory of Monte Shomaker, an avid golfer and community member dedicated to serving the Carlisle area. Monte Shomaker was director of development, president of Life Care Ventures, and corporate vice president of Human Resources for Carlisle Hospital and Health Services. He also served in numerous community organizations including the Greater Carlisle United Way, the Greater Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce, the Salvation Army, the Carlisle Area School Board, the Harrisburg Symphony Association, and Leadership Carlisle.
The event begins with registration and a box lunch from noon to 1 p.m. The tournament format is a best-ball scramble. We will have awards as well as skills competitions for longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin, and a putting contest. Complimentary soft drinks will be available on the course; other refreshments will be available for purchase.
As players finish, we will have a buffet dinner. At dinner, we will award prizes and skills competition prizes.
