Safe Harbour’s Response to Covid-19 and Immediate Needs **UPDATED**

New Procedures

Because of the many concerns regarding the continuing spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, Safe Harbour implemented a precautionary measure out of an abundance of caution.
Safe Harbour is limiting access to the James Wilson Facility to residents, Safe Harbour staff, and essential visitors ONLY. Essential visitors include caseworkers, medical staff, and County Housing Authority staff. Essential visitors will be required to sign-in at the Front Desk and show appropriate photo identification, as usual.

This means that ALL non-essential visitors, as well as volunteers, will be prohibited from entering the building. Exceptions may be made by request to the Client Services staff. Permission for visitors will be granted ONLY in the case of exceptional or critical needs.  The visitor restrictions will remain in place until further notice.

Canceled Event

Safe Harbour also made the difficult decision to postpone April 2nd’s Sip-N-Savour event.

We are appreciative of the continued support and understanding from the community. This decision aligns with the announced gathering protocols as our priority is the safety of everyone involved with any of our events. Further information will be sent out as it becomes available via our website and our social media channels.  All ticket sales made prior to the event will be honored at the rescheduled date.

Donations Update

Donations from the community are welcome and appreciated. To follow social distancing protocols, please notify Safe Harbour of your intent to make a donation; we can then set up a time to retrieve your donation from the front of our 102 West High Street building. Simply call to set a time, drop your donation at the front door and staff will bring it inside for distribution to our residents.

Our immediate needs include:

  • Packed Lunches/Dinners-grab and go foods
  • Fresh fruit
  • Non-perishable foods, microwavable meals-soup, tuna, chili, stew, etc.
  • Antibacterial hand soap
  • Antibacterial hand gel
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Disinfecting cleaners for floors, counters, etc.
  • Paper towels
  • Lysol Disinfectant Spray

Monetary Donations

Due to the cancellation of our upcoming special find raising event and increased demands on resources for residents, monetary donations are also needed.
